Trend: White Lace



Domencio Dolce and Stefano Gabbana celebrated their 25th anniversary of their huge imperium by an almost all-white (lace) collection Spring 2011. Backstage the designers explained that the inspiration behind the lovely show was a hope chest. For people who don't get this right away (like me), that is the things new and handed down to a bride what she might pack before she sets off on the next chapter of her life. The romantic inspiration and the fabulous fashion show makes it clear that this season white lace is going to dominate the streetwear.

Trend: Bright Colours

Fashion embraced this Spring red, yellow, pink, blue and every other colour there is. Designers showed at the previews Fashion Shows that this season it's all about colour mixing. If you don't want to jump in the colour scene right away, you can start with one bright colour at the time. As Simons so cleverly demonstrated at the Jil Sanders runway, brights look great with black.
